Killing the Cold Calling Star through Social Media

If you are anything like me who thinks cold calling is upsetting then you understand why social media is leading the race.

Social media has gone through a lot during the first years of its online fame. It has come up from just being something that people once joined just for the sake of it and now become a great network marketing tool that people use today.

But what did the social media do in order for it to kill the cold calling technique that has been used for so long? 

Well it hasn't completely killed the cold calling technique in marketing, but it really has done something huge to permanently damage the way people see cold calls today, even big companies.

Here are a few things that have changed the marketing world and shifted to side with social media marketing.

Budget Allocation

Every type of business has certain budget allocation in order for it to operate properly. These are the budget allocations for cold calls and social media networking.

         Call Centers – These centers are able to make cold calls 24 hrs a day and 7 days a week. Without having problems whatsoever. The only problem would be if the customer would want to buy your product and not just put down the call.
   
      Here is a reason why it is called “cold call” because the customer has no idea what you want and what you are as a company. Seriously, it just annoys the hell out of people to get marketing calls from a strangers requires a lot of money in order to run a properly managed call center for cold calls.

     Outsourcing would be a good idea, but still would cost a lot of money. With a very small percentage of conversion.

         Social Media Networking – Now on the other hand we have the popular social media networking. In order to maintain a good working business you only need a good team to get your back. 

     The cost is lower compared to hiring agents calling day in and out for cold calls. In  the social media marketing world. You only need to have a good product or website and just make friends through social media. And people would start trusting and accepting your product without any problems.

How the Society looks at it

How would you feel if you get a call from a stranger asking you so many things about yourself? would you entertain them? Unless you are not busy compared to the other people in the world, you would probably take that call and become a convert in just a few minutes.
  
But what if you are one of the many people in the world that are actually busy and would really hate someone calling them in working hours? What would you do? Hang up!

The society things that cold calls are a nuisance, which makes it a lesser choice of marketing options today. Whereas social media marketing is a plan that you can implement to reach your target audience and attract total strangers to you without calling any of them.

Moreover, it does not take up that much money, because you do not need to have special phone lines for calling strangers. and you do not need to pay any employee to be able to start.

In order to achieve success in social media network marketing you need to use your head and connect to people, and wait. In my opinion, It is true that social media has murdered the usefulness of cold calling in this marketing world today.

With social media. you can reach your target audience where ever they are without picking up the phone.. social media is the way to go.
