In network marketing or MLM,the very basic thing you need to establish is to have a prospect list. This prospect list primary contained the names of persons whom you regard as potential players to your multi level marketing or home-based business.

The persons in the list may be your kin, relatives, friends, persons referred to you by anybody or list generated online.
Then, after having the prospect list, your next move is to do some classifying.
By classifying, it is not an attempt to pre-judge or pre-qualify your prospects as if you have all the hints or knowledge on them and their thinking.
At this point in time, you regard all the prospects in the list as raw material or resource for your network marketing or home business venture.
To do the process of classifying, you need to consider the following criteria to achieve the desired and most potent list of prospects to be part of your mlm team.
1. Location
As an online marketing business, distance doesn’t seem much of an issue as long as internet connectivity is 24/7 available and at a considerable speed. But it is good to know where your prospects coming from for you to make the necessary adjustments, considerations or whatsoever as regard your network marketing. One thing to remember that with the internet, the world is becoming a global village and everyone seems to be within reach and click away even if the person is at the other corner of the world.
2. Character
As owner and CEO of your online marketing business, it is necessary to take some glimpses of your prospect's character. Some questions to take note are the following: Do they have a positive outlook in life? Are they open to new ideas? Are they coachable and can they follow a system? Are they the kind of people who take immediate action when they recognize an opportunity?
Do they have a large circle of influence?
Asking these questions will help you identify your potential business partners. Having the kind of people who share your values, dreams and aspirations will greatly contribute to your business success.
So it is recommendable to build your network marketing team with people who have the qualities or character that you strive for and admire the most.
3. Experience
Though not a necessary requirement, but it is good to know the background of your prospects especially work related experience. If some have previous experience with multi-level marketing and others have none, then it is advised to take the team into common grounding.
For those who have the previous knowledge of network marketing should be filtered in order to avoid fixation to the negative understanding of it and focus to the positive side instead. The process of “leveling off” is helpful so that everyone can have the same common understanding of network marketing as explained by you being the CEO or directly “from the horse’s mouth” as the popular phrase goes. In this way, everybody can have the same “feel” of this home-based business.
The reason why you need to classify your prospect list is that, people are different, you sure don’t want to work with people who does not believe in what you believe in in terms of building your team.. You are looking for people that you believe are worth working with first, because you feel that they make a great contribution to the growth of your network marketing team.
